Assessments for Adults

Assessments for Adults

Our Assessments

Full Diagnostic SpLD Assessment
(£450 + VAT)

Our full diagnostic SpLD assessment formally identifies specific learning differences such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, and, where appropriate, provides an educational diagnosis of ADHD.

The assessment includes a formal diagnostic report suitable for Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) applications, together with tailored recommendations to support learning, confidence, and performance in education, work, and daily life.

SpLD Profile Assessment
(£250 + VAT)

Our shorter SpLD Profile Assessment provides insight into an individual’s learning strengths and challenges without offering a formal diagnosis. It can also reveal patterns associated with specific learning differences such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, or ADHD.

Although it is not suitable as evidence for Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) applications, it can serve as useful evidence for reasonable adjustments in education, workplace settings, and daily life.

Exam Access Arrangements Assessments

Our Exam Access Arrangements assessment uses standardised tests to identify difficulties in reading, writing, or processing speed. It provides evidence to support appropriate adjustments such as extra time, a reader, or a scribe.

We conduct assessments for schools, colleges, exam centres, universities, and training providers, following relevant regulations and requirements, including those set by the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ).

Workplace Assessments

Our workplace SpLD assessments explore how specific learning differences, such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, or ADHD, may affect performance at work.

We offer two types of workplace assessment: a SpLD Profile Assessment to build understanding of an individual’s learning profile, and a Workplace Strategy Assessment for practical, role-specific solutions. These can be combined for more comprehensive support.

Specific Learning Difficulties (spLDs) in Adults

Specific Learning Difficulties (spLDs) in Adults

Many adults with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs) have historically struggled with tasks such as reading, writing, and spelling, as well as with inattention or coordination difficulties, but may not have had the opportunity to identify the cause of their challenges. They may have friends or family with dyslexia, dyspraxia or ADHD and recognise traits in themselves, or they may find information on the internet that they can relate to.

Adults can experience challenges with reading extended material at work, writing documents, helping children with homework, or remaining focused and processing information quickly. This can often result in lower self-esteem and frustration. Some adults may find that changes in job roles, with greater expectations to write up notes or communicate in writing rather than by phone, may also lead them to seek an assessment.
