Exam Access Arrangements
My Kind of Thinking believe that everyone can achieve when correctly supported. We offer Exam Access Arrangement Assessments in collaboration with local schools and colleges to support applications for additional time, a reader or a scribe at GCSE and A level. All testing and recommendations fall in line with current JCQ regulations
My Kind of Thinking have significant experience in testing for Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs) and in applying for exam access arrangements. We update our own knowledge each year with the JCQ and have a range of up to date tests which are compliant with updated JCQ regulations.
Services to Schools and Colleges
We recognise that every school or college works differently and because if this we offer bespoke services to each institution we work with.
We offer schools a range of different packages:
- Detailed Individual Assessment – This covers reading, spelling, writing and cognitive processing and includes summary results and recommendations with the option of a full diagnostic assessment to be used at university level
- Short individual assessments – This can include assessments for extra time and a scribe. It includes completion of Part 2 Form 8.
- Group testing – this is a cost-effective way to assess a large number of students for extra time. It can cover speed of visual processing, spelling, writing and reading comprehension. If required, it is possible to add 1:1 assessment of cognitive processing. Bulk discounts apply

All assessors are Level 7 qualified. They provide evidence of their qualifications to be kept on record, are DBS checked and fully insured. All record sheets are stored in line with GDPR.
Information for Parents
If your child is at school or college, they may be entitled to Exam Access Arrangements. It is important that these are discussed with your child’s school and it is usual for the school to test for these arrangements.
